Gianmarco: Allora, raccontaci un po’ di te.
Austin: Mi chiamo Austin Bradley, ho 24 anni, vivo in California, negli USA.
Attualmente sono registrato come studente alla facoltà di medicina, e lavoro come consulente comportamentale in un’azienda ospedaliera.
Ovviamente, sono più conosciuto nell’iCommunity, in cui creo temi per i dispositivi con iOS.
Gianmarco: Come ti è nato quest’hobby per il graphic design, che ti ha quindi spinto a creare temi?
Austin: La mia passione per la grafica inizia quando io avevo 14 anni, lavorando su motori grafici come quelli dei giochi “M.U.G.E.N.” ed anche nella community di Step Mania, dov’ero conosciuto come DJ K.
Mano a mano, è diventata quindi una cosa che mi piace fare, ma che non voglio far diventare un lavoro.
Il “picco” della mia carriera prima dei temi, sono stati i ruoli di Produttore Esecutivo e Project Manager di un gioco arcade chiamato “DanceTrax” – Ma dopo due anni, il progetto fu abbandonato, in quanto c’erano problemi legali con le case di giochi musicali all’epoca.
Dopo quell’episodio, mi resi conto che potevo “applicare” la mia passione anche agli iDevice: insomma, non potevo resistere, ahahhaa.
Gianmarco: Qual è stato il tuo primo iDevice?
Austin: Comprai il mio primo dispositivo Apple verso gli inizi del 2009: parlo di un’iPod Touch 1G, che ovviamente ho jailbrekkato non appena si poteva.
Allora fare il jailbreak non era semplice come lo è ora, haha.
Gianmarco: Che dispositivo hai ora?Austin: Proprio in questo momento, sto usando il mio iPhone 4.
Gianmarco: Ah! Beato te, ahaha!
Austin: Ehi, l’ho prenotato nell’esatto momento in cui si poteva online, ahahha!
Gianmarco: Basta ti prego, non farmi soffrire 🙁 Raccontaci dei tuoi temi: cosa ha fatto cominciare il tutto?
Austin: Quando uscì SummerBoard, iniziai modificando i temi che c’erano a quei tempi, e devo dire che era sorprendentemente BELLO!Quando uscì WinterBoard invece, decisi di provarci, e costruirne uno.iNitsua Creai quindi iNitsua, originariamente una sorta di iNav-esque, però limitato solo alla SpringBoard.Dopo di questo trovai l’ispirazione necessaria per creare iNitsua NeoStyle, probabilmente il mio tema più famoso fino a qualche tempo fa.Nello stesso tempo, Steve Zausser (conosciuto come Zausser) stava creando una “tempesta”: i suoi lavori a livello di “UI”(cioè di suoni) era strepitoso, ed era anche un fan dei miei lavori.Ci siamo quindi uniti e creato Inspired OS, che è stato sicuramente il tema più innovativo che abbiamo mai fatto, ma richiedeva troppe impostazioni.Da allora, ho sempre lavorato con lui.Si occupa della parte dei suoni, e io di tutto ciò che riguarda la grafica: ci dividiamo veramente il lavoro, e poi lui fa il suo lavoro senza interruzioni, mentre io posso preparare con tutta calma la mia parte.
Gianmarco: E il vostro MIGLIOR tema finora?
Austin: iNitsua Z Twilight HD – sicuramente il nostro miglior tema.
Non solo è altamente “stilizzato”, ma è stato accolto dall’iCommunity in una maniera che nessuno s’aspettava.Tutti restammo impressionati, specialmente io e Steve: non immaginammo che il tema diventò così popolare.
Gianmarco: State lavorando su qualche nuovo progetto?
Austin: Sì, stiamo lavorando a qualcosa di nuovo, ma non possiamo ancora rivelare cosa. Ma se qualcuno volesse delle anticipazioni, mi segua su twitter(@k_nitsua).
Gianmarco: Che iDevices supporterà?
Austin: Stiamo cercando di rendere compatibili tutti i nostri temi con ogni dispositivo, persino iPad.
Gianmarco: Che programmi suggerisci di usare per fare temi o cimentarsi nel graphic design?
Austin: Personalmente, uso tutta la famiglia Adobe, quindi Photoshop, Dreamviewer, e di recente Illustrator; in passato, usavo anche 3MaxStudio e Bryce 3D, per effetti in 3D.
Gianmarco: Vuoi dire qualcosa ai tuoi fan di iphoneitalia.com?
Austin: Vorrei salutare i miei fan, e gli utenti, di iPhoneitalia.com: continuate così, sembrate una community abbastanza grande, e apprezzo il vostro supporto.

Gianmarco: So tell me a little about yourself.
Austin: My name’s Austin Bradley, I’m 24, I live in California, USA. I’m currently a Registered Nursing student and work as a behavioral counselor at a psychiatric facility. Of course, I’m more known in the iCommunity for my themes that I create for iOS devices.
Gianmarco: How did you get into this hobby of graphic designing and, ultimately, theming?
Austin: My passion for the graphic was started when I was 14, working on M.U.G.E.N. gaming engine as well as StepMania community where I was known as DJ K. Graphic designing became something I really enjoyed and although it’s not my major or choice of career, it is something that I thoroughly enjoy and strive to be better at. The high point of that endeavor was when I was the Executive Producer and Project Manager of an arcade game called “DanceTrax” – after 2 years of work on it, it was abandoned due to legal issues regarding other dance games at the time. After that, I still had a knack for designing, when I realized I could do the same to my iDevice; well, I couldn’t resist, haha.
Gianmarco: What was your first iDevice?
Austin: I bought my first Apple’s device in late 2008, early 2009: it was an iPod Touch 1G, which I of course jailbroke immediately as soon as I could. Jailbreaking wasn’t as easy back then as it is today, haha.
Gianmarco: What iDevice do you have now?
Austin: Right now, I’m using my iPhone 4.
Gianmarco: Ah! Lucky one, haha!
Austin: Hey, I preordered it the MINUTE I could online, haha.
Gianmarco: Please stop, don’t make me soffer 🙁 Tell us about your themes. What started it all?
Austin: When SummerBoard came out, I started to modding the themes they had at the time, it was very fun and SURPRISINGLY addicting. When WinterBoard came out, I decided to give making my own original one a try. iNitsua was then made, it was a landscape iNav-esque theme. After that I made iNSPIRED and then iNitsua NeoStyle, probably one of my most famous theme until a quite ago. At the same time, Steve Zausser (known as Zausser) was making a storm in the theming scene. His UI work was amazing and he was a fan of my work as well. We then got together and made Inspired OS which was probably the most innovative out of all of our themes – but required much setup. Since then, I’ve always worked with him. He does the UI (menus, sounds, app interfaces) and I do the springboard, icons, and, of course, the lockscreens. It’s really 50/50 between he and I – it just works out well because he can do UI seamlessly while I can code and do what I do best.
Gianmarco: So what’s your guys’ newest theme?
Austin: iNitsua Z Twilight HD – hands down, our best theme to date. Not only is it highly stylized but the community has embraced it unlike anything else. The community mods that are being developed for free by fans are truly astonishing. Steve and I couldn’t believe how popular the theme became.
Gianmarco: Are you guys working on anything new?
Austin: We’re working for something new, but I can’t say what just yet. But if people want to know what is being worked on, follow me on Twitter (@k_nitsua).
Gianmarco: What iDevices will it support?
Austin: We’re also trying to adapt our themes for every iDevice, even the iPad.
Gianmarco: What programs do you suggest people use to make their themes or graphic design?
