GUIDA: eseguire il jailbreak untethered di iOS 4.2.1 utilizzando PwangeTool [Mac]

Sono stati rilasciati i primi bundles non ufficiali per eseguire il jailbreak untethered del firmware 4.2.1 su iPhone 4 e iPhone 3GS utilizzando PwnageTool, il tool per Mac del Dev Team che consente di creare un custom firmware personalizzato da ripristinare con iTunes per eseguire lo sblocco e la conseguente installazione di Cydia. In questo articolo andremo ad illustrarvi il procedimento per eseguire questa operazione correttamente.

Premesse

Il jailbreak eseguito sarà di tipo untethered.
La baseband degli iPhone 3GS/4 stranieri NON verrà aggiornata eseguendo questo tipo di jailbreak. Per questo si tratta di una guida consigliata per tutti gli utenti che vogliono aggiornare il proprio iPhone senza perdere la possibilità di utilizzare Ultrasn0w per l’unlock.

Dispositivi compatibili

iPhone 4
iPhone 3GS (vecchio e nuovo iBoot)

Occorrente

Bundle per PwnageTool (download).
Firmware 4.2.1 salvato sul desktop (download).
PwnageTool 4.1.2 (download).
Sistema operativo Mac OS X.
iTunes 10 o successivi (download).

Guida

1. Scaricate PwnageTool e spostate l’applicazione sulla scrivania.

2. Cliccate con il tasto destro sull’icona del programma e, successivamente, su “Mostra contenuto pacchetto”.

3. Posizionatevi quindi nel percorso Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles.

4. Adesso dovrete copiare uno dei seguenti due files nel percorso Contents/Resources/FirmwareBundles, percorso in cui vi siete precedentemente posizionati.

Copiate il file:

iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a.bundle se siete in possesso di un iPhone 3GS.
iPhone3,1_4.2.1_8C148.bundle se siete in possesso di un iPhone 4.

5. Adesso, invece, dovrete copiare e sovrascrivere il file info.plist, disponibile nell’archivio iPhone3GS_iPhone4_UT-Nadeem97.zip, all’interno di PwnageTool. Per farlo clicchiamo nuovamente con il tasto destro sull’applicazione, quindi su “Mostra contenuto pacchetto” e, una volta all’interno del percorso Contents/Resources/CustomPackages, clicchiamo con il tasto destro sul file CydiaInstaller.bundle e, una volta aperta la nuova cartella, copiamo al suo interno il file info.plist sovrascrivendolo a quello già presente.

6. Chiudete le finestre del Finder e aprite PwnageTool. Selezionate la voce “iPhone 3G/3GS/4″ per procedere con la creazione del custom firmware 4.2.1 per il vostro iPhone 4 o iPhone 3GS. Ricordiamo che questa procedura è compatibile esclusivamente con questi dispositivi.

7. Cliccate su “Modalità Avanzata” e selezionate manualmente, se non viene riconosciuto in automatico, il file .ipsw di iOS 4.2.1 (scaricato in precedenza) e confermate l’operazione; attendete quindi che PwnageTool termini la creazione del custom firmware. Ad un certo punto PwnageTool vi chiederà di inserire la vostra password utente. Fatelo e la creazione del custom firmware verrà ultimata in pochi istanti.

8. Una volta creato il custom firmware e selezionata la directory di salvataggio, non dovrete far altro che aprire iTunes, spostarvi nella sezione iPhone, quindi su Sommario e cliccate su “Ripristina” tenendo premuto il tasto ALT. Selezionate quindi, dall’apposita finestra, il custom firmware 4.2.1 appena creato ed attendete che iTunes ultimi il processo di ripristino (che generalmente dura dai 10 ai 15 minuti).

Una volta eseguita l’installazione del custom firmware, avrete ottenuto un iPhone 4/3GS aggiornato ad iOS 4.2.1 con Cydia installato e baseband preservata dall’aggiornamento.

Se avete il 3gs con baseband 6,15 fate AGGIORNA da Itunes, lasciatelo fare fino a che non vi da il 1015 (come errore). §Fatto ciò con l’ultima versione di tinyumbrella mettete exit recovery e poi procedete con il Jailbreak greenpois0n.

Mi RACCOMANDO AGGIORNA O SHIFT AGGIORNA, se fate RIPRISTINA vi va il recovery loop

Credo hai 4.2.1 come firmware… Guarda le e’ stata lasciata la versione aggiornata di greenpoison che permette di effettuare il jail unthethered su iPhone 4 . Quindi usalo e dimentica il jail thethered che attualmente hai. Ciao

perchè secondo me greenpoison non esegue l’attivazione del dispositivo quindi chi non ha la sim originale straniera può avere problemi con quella guida non sono sicuro al 100% puoi controllare un attimo

SALVE. potreste aiutarmi? ho un iphone 3gs aggiornato al firmware 4.2 ( itunes mi ha detto di aggiornare al firmware 4.2 e non 4.2.1 e non so se sia la stessa cosa) comunque mi ritrovo con il telefono montante il firmware 4.2. posso effettuare il jailbreak con greenpoision?? oppure in altri modi? il modo proposto da questo articolo mi risulta troppo difficile. grazie mille

@Alex in che senso ultrasn0w che c’entra?? ti spiego meglio la situazione avevo il 4.1 jb e sbloccato con ultrasnow poi aggiornato 4.2.1 preservando la baseband eseguito greenpoison ma greenpoison sembra che non attivi il dispositivo (itunes fornisce errore sim non riconosciuta) il dispositivo e in chiamata di emergenza che mi consigli di fare?

@Alex no io sto facendo da intermediario e che stasera non ho niente da fare quindi volevo un pò aiutare… xD non sto eseguendo il jailbreak realmente ma cmq funziona sicuramente il procedimento che hai detto secondo me anche senza spuntare nessuna opzione su redsn0w…con questa procedura descritta qui invece devi solo controllare quando vai in expert mode con pwnage tool c’è proprio un opzione che ti dice se vuoi aggiornare la baseband o no, per sicurezza verifica che sia su no (cioè con o senza spunta) cmq mi sembra che di default sia su non aggiornare…

Siamo alle solite con questi del pwnage, come sei precendenti telefoni, sono stracolmi di bug anche questo si pianta sulla mela al riavvio dopo il ripristino del ios personalizzato. Non parliamo poi che greenpoison funziona ma è di una instabilità terribile, la metà delle accensioni del telefono si spegne per poi riaccendersi e fortunatamente partire regolarmente.
Non sono proprio inesperto di computer e elettronica e posso dire che le ho provate tutte ma se un software di sblocco da così tanti problemi a così tante persone allora ….. mi sembra ovvio è che il software è fatto da culo !!!
L’unico che ha funzionato in modo perfetto è stato quello di geohot e spero tanto che esca al più presto visto che questi del pwn parlano tanto ma fanno proprio male il loro tanto blasonato jb…..

Non puoi avere un fw 4.2.1 nativo e baseband 06.15, c’è qualcosa che non và… Probabilmente il fw 4.2.1 non è nativo e il tuo device è già unlock.

ho fatto tutta la procedura,
quando ha finito di ripristinare il firm modificato rimane inchiodato sulla mela dell’accensione e non fa più nulla.
ora, volevo ripristinare tutto in originale ma non si apre più niente, neanche itunes mi rileva più il tel…. e non posso fare il ripristino.
che faccio?????

ma ti senti???? io ci sono riuscito, ragazzi io ho iphone 4 americano con firmware 4.1 e baseband 1.59.00, ho creato il custom firmware, ma l’ho ripristinato con itunes su windows xp xchè su mac nn mi completava il procedimento, ora mi ritrovo iphone 4 con firmware 4.2.1 con baseband 1.59.00 xfettamente funzionante =)

cmq è un 3gs vecchio iboot o nuovo? perchè se vecchio puoi usare anche il pwnagetool 4.1.3 Unlock edition rilasciato a dicembre e poi sbloccare con ultrasn0w tranquillamente

@JimiHendrix1980: In verità credevo che fosse 06.15.01 perchè l’iphone ce l’ha un amico che lo ha mandato in Apple, gli è arrivato nuovo (VERGINE), e penso che (sicuramente) monti il fw 4.2.1 , perchè la apple te lo da sempre con l’ultimo firmware disponibile e poi a livello di BB non saprei sinceramente, mi era stato detto sul forum che avrebbe avuto la 06.15…ma non sono sicuro!!! Se non è stato toccato secondo voi che BB deve avere un iphone uscito pochi giorni fa dalla APPLE?

@Fabbro è molto strano xè la baseband 06.15.00 non è dell’iphone ma dell’ipad, un firmware vergine con 4.2.1 deve montare baseband 05.15.04 cmq per effettuare il jailbreak e sblocco puoi usare questa guida anche se io ti consiglierei di usare pwnage tool 4.1.3 invece di 4.1.2

@Fabbro no per il momento l’unico unlock possibile è quello di mettere la baseband dell’ipad e l’unica funzionalità che forse si potrebbe perdere e il GPS al wifi non crea nessun problema…cmq si parlo di questa guida!cmq controlla bene la baseband che hai xè se è veramente vergine non può essere quella che hai detto…

AIUTO AIUTO AIUTO. Ho un Iphone 4 americano. già fatto jb due volte, con firmware modem 01.59.00. ho seguito per tre volte la procedura descritta, partendo da zero.
Apparentemente mi porta a termine l’operazione e mi carica l’icona di cydia, ma appena cerco di aprirla, crasha. La baseband è rimasta la stessa ovvero 01.59.00 la versione è passata regolarmente a 4.2.1, ma non so se l’iphone è jb oppure no….
naturalmente senza cydia non posso sbloccarlo ed ora ho un bel mattoncino.
Vorrei una consulenza, anche a pagamento…

Ho ultimato il Jailbreak solo con GreenPoison RC5 b4….in seguito all’utilizzo di questa guida non si apriva Cydia e GreenPoison non veniva eseguito……ho dovuto ripristinare tutto ed allora è stato possibile eseguire GreenPoison.

ciao sono arrivato al punto 7. dove mi viene chiesta l’apertura del file file .ipsw di iOS 4.2.1. Il PwnageTool lo apre ma ad un certo punto si blocca e dice il file selezionato presenta dei problemi con una scritta enorme rossa!ho riprovato a scaricare nuovamente il file.ipsw per iphone 4 e ripresenta lo stesso problema!

a me non incolla il bundle dentro la cartella firmwarebundles, anche se sono il administratore del mac. quando faccio “ottieni informazioni” mi dice “puoi solo leggere” quindi non mi da il permesso di modificare. vorrei modificare i permessi ma è in griggio. come faccio????

Fai un ripristino con il firmware 4.2.1 originale (ti darà errore 1015 perche hai la baseband 6.15.00) . A questo punto fai il jailbreak con greenpois0n . A questo punto ti serve la scheda originale del iphone per attivarla perche greenpoison fa il jailbreak ma non attiva il telefono. Una volta attivato il telefono, prosegui con cydia e ultrasnow. Ps. Se il jaibreak con greenpoison non va a buon fine per la prima volta, tenti un altra volta a farlo.

L’unica soluzione che mi viene a mente e’ tentare di ripristinare il fw originale e buonanotte al JB… anche se ho un iphone straniero e mi servirebbe l’unlock (vivo all’estero ma torno in italia spesso, vorra’ dire che non usero’ l’iphone in Italia… almeno finche’ non esce un JB decente! )
